Three girls coaches honored by IBCA for 2025-26 season
Heim, Hollins and Stuckmeyer to receive Bob King Awards as girls' District Coaches of the Year
Three Indiana high school girls basketball coaches have been chosen as 2026 Bob King Coaches of the Year by their peers in the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association, it was announced Thursday (March 19).
Andy Heim of Class 3A state champion Bellmont, Keith Hollins of Pike and Kevin Stuckmeyer of Class 4A state champion Center Grove have been selected as honorees for the 2025-26 season through voting that occurred from late January through late February, IBCA executive director Marty Johnson said.
Honors are awarded according to IHSAA district boundaries, and one coach from each district is a recipient – Heim in District 1, Holliins in District 2, and Stuckmeyer in District 3. These three coaches will receive plaques as an IBCA District Coach of the Year during the 2026 IBCA Clinic, which is set for April 23-24 at Mt. Vernon High School in Fortville.
The Coach of the Year award is named for the late Bob King, the IBCA executive director from 1984-94. King, a Lebanon native, coached at Sacred Heart and Shortridge high schools in Indianapolis before serving as an assistant basketball coach at Purdue University. He later also was as an assistant athletic director and associate athletic director at Purdue.

Here is information about the 2026 IBCA/Bob King girls' Coach of the Year honorees.
District 1: Andy Heim, Bellmont
Heim has compiled a 211-143 record in 15 seasons at Bellmont with a previous sectional title in 2022. His teams also captured Northeast 8 Conference titles in 2017, 2019 and 2025.
He will be the assistant coach for the 2026 girls Junior All-Stars.
A 1997 graduate of New Haven High School, Heim played four years of basketball and four years of baseball for the Bulldogs. He contributed to basketball sectional winners in 1995 and 1996 and was chosen honorable mention all-conference as a senior. In baseball, he was honorable mention all-conference as a sophomore and second-team all-conference as a junior.
After high school, he attended Purdue University for one year, then completed his education at Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne, graduating in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in English education. He later earned a master’s degree in education from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2007 and a second master’s degree in English from Indiana University in 2018.
Heim began his coaching career at New Haven, serving as a boys’ basketball JV coach from 2002-11. He became the Bellmont girls’ varsity coach beginning in 2011-12. He began his teaching career in 2005 at Bellmont. He is in his 21st year at the school where he currently teaches dual-credit English and weight training.
He and his wife, Desiree, have four children – Holden, 11, Kenslee, 9, Kade, 6, and Carter, 4.
District 2: Keith Hollins, Pike
In four seasons, Hollins has compiled a 61-42 record after taking over a program that had gone 21-44 in the three seasons prior to his appointment.
Hollins began his coaching career as a girls’ assistant at New Augusta North Middle School in Pike Township from 2010-12. He then was a Pike High School girls’ assistant from 2012-14 and a Zionsville girls’ assistant from 2014-19, helping guide the team to Class 4A state runner-up in 2019. He returned to Pike as a girls’ assistant in 2021-22 before taking over as the Pike head coach in 2022-23. Hollins also was a coach and assistant director in the Lady Gym Rats travel basketball program from 2013-23. In addition, he served as a football assistant coach at Pike from 2009-13, at Zionsville from 2014-18 and at Pike again from 2019-23.
A 2007 graduate of Pike High School, Hollins played football and basketball for the Red Devils and was a part of basketball sectional champions as a junior and senior. He went on to attend Trine University, where he played football for two seasons. He later completed coursework at Ivy Tech College and currently is working to complete his bachelor’s degree at Ball State University.
Since 2022, Hollins has worked as a credit recovery teacher at Pike. Previously, he was an instructional assistant at Pike from 2010-14, an instructional assistant for Cedar Elementary in Avon in 2014-15, a guided learning teacher at Pike from 2015-19 and an athletic administrative assistant at Pike from 2019-22.
He is engaged to Kendra McBeath, and they have a 2-year-old son, Kendrick.
District 3: Kevin Stuckmeyer, Center Grove
Stuckmeyer has a 187-49 record in nine seasons as coach of the Center Grove girls. That tenure has included five sectional titles and three regional crowns as well as the one semi-state banner and the one state trophy. He previously also was a boys’ head coach at Plymouth for three seasons, posting a 31-38 record with one sectional title.
A 2001 graduate of Plymouth, Stuckmeyer played four years of basketball and three years of baseball for the Pilgrims. He was a part of two sectional winners, a 1998 regional winner and was a two-time all-Northern Lakes Conference selection and IBCA honorable mention all-state as a senior in basketball.
He matriculated to Grace College, where he played four years of basketball and was a two-time NAIA Academic All-American and a two-time National Christian College Athletic Association Academic All-American. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business education in 2005 and later a master’s degree in business administration from American Public University in 2013.
Stuckmeyer started his career in education as a teacher and boys’ basketball assistant coach from 2005-07 at Logansport. He was a teacher and boys’ assistant at Plymouth in 2007-08 before leading the Plymouth boys from 2008-11. He then was a boys’ assistant from 2011-13 at LaVille and a boys’ assistant from 2013-17 at Center Grove before becoming the Center Grove girls’ head coach starting in 2017-18.
He is in his 13th year as a Center Grove teacher, where he instructs students in business management, internships and early-college management. This is his 21st year overall as a teacher.
Stuckmeyer and his wife, Brittany, have three children – McKenzie, 9; Nick, 7; and Kaden, 4.
He enjoys time with family and is a self-described University of Michigan fan and college football fan.

IBCA/BOB KING AWARD -- GIRLS' COACH OF THE YEAR WINNERS
The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association has presented Coach of the Year Awards since 1971. These awards are named for Bob King, a former executive director of the organization who also spent years on the Purdue University men’s basketball coaching staff and later served as an assistant athletic director at Purdue. He played and then coached basketball and football for 13 years at Indianapolis Shortridge and is a graduate of Butler University. He was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 1986. Honorees were selected one per district in five districts from 1971 through 2003, two per district in three districts from 2004-2022, and one per district in three districts starting in 2023. The boys’ awards started in the 1970-71 season. The girls’ awards started in the 1983-84 season.
